Executive Director Hope House Foundation (Retired)
Lynne Seagle is passionate about social justice and equality for all people, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities. She served as the Executive Director of Hope House Foundation in Norfolk, Virginia for more than three decades. Prior to joining Hope House, she was a special education teacher.
Under Lynne’s leadership, Hope House has become internationally known for its innovative, person-centered approach. Lynne guided Hope House Foundation through the transition from serving people with disabilities in group homes to supporting each person to enjoy a life of his/her own design in his/her own home or apartment with all of the support needed for success.
Lynne has been honored as the Virginia Administrator of the Year by the Virginia Community Living Association. She also received the Leadership Award from the American Association on Intellectual Disabilities and the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation’s International Future Leader Award.
She has served on the Arc of Virginia’s Board of Directors and on the President’s Committee on Intellectual Disabilities. Lynne speaks nationally and internationally on topics of organizational and leadership development, strategic planning, and team-building.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University.
